We used to listen to vinyl on the Mahogany Radio
He’d talk and I would listen about the things that I should know
Once he told me a story about a picture of the queen
And that Mahogany Radio was a comfort in my teens
I took that comfort with me as twice I packed my bags
Spent time in places with lions and dragon on their flags
And when it seemed that homewards was the last way I would go
I had the music inside me from the Mahogany Radio
At times the world has been tuneless
